Are You Hack Proof?  Probably Not - Nick Espinosa

Ransomware, phishing and hacking have become commonplace in today's business world. Everyday businesses are being disrupted by hackers having fun or wanting money.  The question is, do you have the right protections in place for your operations, systems and client data?  Nick Espinosa from BSSI2 is one of the country's leading experts on cybersecurity.  Nick has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies and has appeared on Ted Talks.  Nick will unpack the elements you need in your cybersecurity strategy to keep you ahead of the hacking game.

10:10 am - 11:40 am:
  General Session 2:
Employees Don't Leave Their Company.  They Leave Their Boss - Dr. Rick Marks
One of the biggest fallacies in business is, 'The person who is good at doing the technical work of heat treating is also great at managing the people who do the technical work.'  Not true. Managing people is an entirely different skill set than doing the work, and yet people are moved into management with no people skills.  Dr. Rick Marks, one of the top experts on emotional intelligence, will provide you with the key traits your managers need to have to attract people to work, not run them off.

11:40 am - 12:00 pm:
State of the Institute Update by MTI President, Jamie Jones
MTI President will provide an update on MTI's annual financial performance and key industry initiatives impacting your company.

9:00 am - 10:30 am:
Spouse Guest Event
One of the greatest elements of MTI meetings is how connected the spouses are. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with other MTI spouses. You will enjoy mimosas, and breakfast drinks over a light breakfast while meeting other spouses from all across North America.

Saturday, OCT 5

7:30 am - 8:15 am:  Continental Breakfast for Session Attendees

8:15 am - 8:25 am:  Welcome from MTI President, Jamie Jones

8:25 am - 9:55 am:  General Session 1:
Fireside Discussions - Moderated by 2 MTI Members
One of the most powerful strengths of MTI is the deep knowledge and experience of members. During this Fireside Discussion session, 2 members will moderate both table and group open discussions on three to four hot topics that attendees have indicated they would love to hear about from other members.  MTI's open discussion forums are always highly informative with never enough time.

10:15 am - 11:15 am:  General Session 2 - Featured Keynote
Work, Laugh, Repeat - Greg Schwen

If the seriousness of the daily grind has you distracted from the fun of life, you can't miss this session by Greg Schwen.  Dubbed the ''King of the hill in the world of corporate comedy" by the Chicago Tribune, dozens of associations and corporations, from Microsoft to McDonald’s, have learned a refreshing perspective on work and life.  Greg will share his hilarious, relatable observations on technology and the business environment, including smartphone abuse, social network overload, never-ending conference calls, "frequently" asked questions, text messaging addiction, and home office workers. Combining clean, good-natured comedy with lightning-fast improv skills and PowerPoint support, you will take a fun tour of the office environment – based on actual research of the workplace providing you a refreshing perspective on work and life.
*** SPOUSES/GUESTS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THIS SESSION.

6:30 pm - 7:30 pm:  MTI
